These thick plates are what give them their flattened, "slipper-like" appearance, and they use them almost like shields for defense and tools for foraging along the sand.

It is a very special milestone for our resort family as we proudly announce that our Dive Guide Trainee Batch 1 of 2026 has officially graduated and earned their PADI Rescue Diver certificates.

For about six months, they trained closely under the guidance of our three resort diving instructors, Didi (@didiburahimaburahima ), Feibe (@fei_bee93 ), and Mei (@diver_gendut ). Through a wonderful collaboration with @notrashtriangle , they learned how to contribute and be more responsible in maintaining the underwater biodiversity of Bunaken.

We want to express our deepest thanks to Leon, Fharel, and Genardo for following this program with so much dedication from start to finish.

Looking to the future, our greatest hope is that they become dive guides who carry full responsibility and awareness in protecting Bunaken’s underwater nature. By doing so, they will help us ensure that sustainable tourism continues to be applied here for years to come. Congratulations!
